Practice Daily practice will enable the student to progress. Mealtime can be a regular time in the schedule for young children. Trimmed fingernails aid correct hand position.
An acoustic or digital piano with weighted keys and a metronome will be needed within the first year. Performance Performance opportunities encourage memorizing, polishing, and developing confident playing. Several Young Musicians Performance Classes are scheduled during the year in place of the private lesson for that week. I encourage performances at home for family and friends and recommend participation in at least one of the events on the yearly list. Calendar The studio will be closed Labor Day, Thanksgiving week, two weeks at Christmas, one week in spring and fall, and Memorial Day. One Personal Day is allowed for Teacher illness/emergency. Lessons will continue through the summer unless other arrangements are made. |
Registration Fee/ Music Deposit A nonrefundable Registration Fee of $80 ($140/family) is required at registration. This fee reserves a place for the student in the studio for the year and is used for purchasing music for the student.
Tuition The month's tuition is due by the 1st of the month without reminder. The yearly tuition is divided into equal payments. Missed Lessons The scheduled lesson time has been reserved for the student for the year. No credit will be given for missed lessons. The Exchange List can help you to trade lesson time with another family for occasional conflicts, or an open time in the schedule may be selected for that week. Lessons canceled by the teacher that cannot be rescheduled will be credited. Current monthly payments are as follows (based on yearly tuition) August through May. Several payment schedules available.
